Men's Indoor Track Finishes Fourth At UNH

Durham, NH --- Sophomore Harrison McCann (Rutland, MA/Wachusett) qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships with a season-best toss of 15.40 meters for third in the weight throw to help lead the Worcester State men's indoor track and field team at the University of New Hampshire Invitational.

The Lancers tallied fourth with 109.5 team points while the hosting Wildcats won the meet with 212.5 followed by Stonehill (145) and Holy Cross (119).

Second-year Todd Paquin (Pelham, NH) also chalked up second in the long jump (6.37 m) and fifth in the 55 meters (6.84) as freshman Andrew Johnson (Thompson, CT) added third in the high jump (1.84 m).

Freshman Steve Fleming (Ludlow, MA) scored points with sixth in the pole vault in the pole vault (3.27m) as classmate Luke Curtis (Dudley, MA) had the same place in the long jump (5.39m).

Junior Nick Capone (Billerica, MA) also paced the throws with seventh in the shot put (12.61m) while sophomore Shawn McCabe (Mansfield, MA) tallied 11th in the weigh throw (11.97m) and 12th in the shot put (11.69m).

Freshman Devlin Crawford (Braintree, MA) followed up his strong sprints performance from last week with second place in the 200 (23.89) and fourth in the 400 (52.00).

Senior RJ Stahelski (S. Deerfield, MA) clocked second in the 500 (1:08.76) while sophomore Julio Arzu (Lynn, MA) registered third in the 55 meters (6.81) and seventh in the 200 (24.76). Freshman Kevin Maciel (Tewksbury, MA), sophomore Jon Parrella (Wilmington, MA) and first-year Ramses Rafael (Lawrence, MA) placed fourth in the 200 (24.54), sixth in the 500 (1:10.56) and seventh in the 400 (54.00), respectively.

Sophomore Tim Mazeika (Millbury, MA) rounded out the finishers with a personal-best time in the 800 (2:00.76).

Next week the Lancers will compete at the MIT Invitational.
