Gibson Takes Home Second Place In 60 Meter Hurdles At NCAA Championships

Lincoln, NE --- Junior Terrence Gibson (Rockland, MA) clocked the second-fastest time in the 60 meter hurdles (7.82) for All-American accolades at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan this afternoon.

Gibson, who finished as the National Runner-Up to sophomore Luke Cambell (Brunswick, MD) of Salisbury, put up the second-best time in Division III history in the event as Campbell set a new overall record with a split of 7.75.

Both student-athletes eclipsed the previous Division III meet record (7.93) with their tremendous times that was previously held and established by Tyler Jackson of Washington University at the 2012 meet and the previous NCAA best (7.83) that had been set by Kendrick Gibbons of Lincoln in 2007.

Gibson's outstanding effort this afternoon put him in a tie for 26th among NCAA Division III, II and I competitors. It also marks the third career All-American distinction after he earned the 60 meter hurdles National Championship last season and a 110 meter hurdles fourth-place finish.

With his eight team points, Gibson helped the Lancers finish in a tie for 24th overall and it equaled the sixth-best tally for a school from New England at the Indoor National meet.

Gibson was also named the MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week.
