Lancers Start Season Strong at Suffolk Relays

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men's Indoor Track and Field team traveled to the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston to start their season at the Suffolk Relays. The team were strong competitors throughout the day, securing several top five finishes and wrapped up in ninth out of 15, securing 16 points at the meet.

The Lancers were led by senior Daniel Clark (Worcester, MA) who finished in third place with a time of 2:43.23 in the Men's 1000m. Adding to Clark's top three finishes was first year Taylor Gavaletz's (Dudley, MA) 11.38m distance in the triple jump that saw him finish in fourth on the afternoon. The Lancers were surrounded by a depth of talent at the meet, with strong showings in their events against a Division I heavy competition field.

The Blue and Gold are back to the races next Friday as they head to the Joe Donohue Games hosted by Northeastern University. The meet will see the Lancers again head to the Reggie Lewis Center to compete against some of the top competition in New England.
