Worcester State Softball Claims Second Spot in MASCAC Preseason Poll

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team has been selected second in the 2024 preseason coaches' poll as voted on by the conference coaches.

The Lancers received 41 points, and one first place vote, after ending the previous season with a 9-5 record in conference. Back in the circle is All-Conference honoree Emily Bartlett who registered six wins, including two shutouts, 145 strikeouts (9.76 per game), a 3.70 ERA with a .214 batting average against.

Grabbing the top spot in the voting was MASCAC 2023 Champion Framingham State with 44 total points and three first place votes. Coming in the third spot, just a single point behind the Lancers, was Bridgewater State, who also claimed four first place votes. Claiming the fourth spot was Westfield State with 35 points while Mass Maritime sits in fifth with 21 points. Just a single point behind the Buccaneers in the sixth spot is the Fitchburg State Falcons.

In the final two spots, Salem State claims seventh with 16 points while MCLA rounds out the poll in 8th with 7 points.
