Lancers Come Back and Cruises Past Framingham, 77-56

Worcester, MA - Three Worcester State women's basketball players reached double figures as the team overcame a three point halftime deficit and rolled to a 21 point win over the visiting Framingham State College by the final score of, 77-56, Thursday night in Lancer Gymnasium.  The Lancers improve top 7-14 (5-4 MASCAC) while Framingham State falls to 5-15 (0-9 MASCAC).

Framingham State took a, 34-31 lead into the break as they shot 46.2% from the field in the half.  The Lancers out rebounded the visitors, 23-18, in the half but 14 turnovers hurt the Worcester State attack.  The Lancers were paced by senior Lindsay DelleChiaie (Leominster, MA) who scored 9 first half points.  Junior Natasha Dallas (Roxbury, MA) added 8 first half points including a pair of three pointers.  Eight Rams found the scoring column with Framingham State being led by junior Allie Hart (Somerset, MA) who matched DelleChiaie with 9 points in the first frame. 

The second half was all Lancers as they opened the second frame with a, 17-8 run, including 9 points from DelleChiaie. With 10:08 remaining the Worcester State led by 8 points, 50-42, but they soon got their lead into double figures and led by 16 with 3:20 remaining on the way to the win.

DelleChiaie led all scorers with 20 points on the night. Freshman Alexis George (Worcester, MA) followed with 12 points and junior Natasha Dallas (Roxbury, MA) chipped in with 10 points. The Rams were led by Toya Chester (Leominster, MA) who had a team-high 13 points and 8 rebounds while Hart ended the night with 10.

Worcester State will return to action on Saturday when they host MCLA.  Framingham State will host Salem State on Saturday.
