Worcester, MA --- The Worcester State women's basketball team got a career-high 18 points from guard Kathleen Foley (Hudson, NH) on their way to a convincing, 68-39, win over the visiting Trailblazers of MCLA Saturday afternoon in Lancer Gymnasium.  The Lancers improve to 8-14 (6-4 MASCAC) while the visitors fall to 9-12 (2-7 MASCAC).

The Lancers grabbed a 6 point halftime lead, 29-23, behind a 10 point half from senior Lindsay DelleChiaie (Leominster, MA).  DelleChiaie was 4-of-5 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc helping Worcester State to a 52.4 shooting percentage from the field in the first half.  Freshman Alexis George (Worcester, MA) also had a solid half scoring 8 points on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting.  MCLA struggled from the floor in the half shooting just 25% but the Trailblazers outrebounded the Lancers 22-13 in the half including 13 offensive boards that kept them in the contest.

The second half saw Worcester State cool off a bit shooting but the Trailblazers dropped down even further to 18.2%.  Worcester State opened the half with a 19-2 run over the first 9 plus minutes to separate from MCLA for good.

Along with Foley's 18 points, DelleChaie and George both finished with 12 points.  MCLA was led by sophomore Laura Silverman (Clifton Park, NY) who scored 19 points on the day to go along with 11 rebounds.

Worcester State will visit Bridgewater State on Tuesday evening while MCLA will host Salem State College this Monday night.
