The Corsairs jumped out to a, 7-0, lead as Tashuana Ashmeade (Hyannis, MA) scored 6 of the first 7 UMass Dartmouth points.  The Lancers hung around cutting the deficit to one point at the 12:13 mark before tying the contest at, 25-25 at 3:34 on a jumper by senior Lindsay DelleChiaie (Leominster, MA).  Worcester State trailed by a pair, 30-28, at the break.  The Lancers struggled mightily from the field in the first frame shooting just 27.6 % on 8-of-29 shooting.  UMass Dartmouth shot just a bit better at 37.5%.

In the second half, after Alexis George (Worcester, MA) scored the first bucket to tie the game at, 30-30, the Corsairs went on another 7-0 run with a pair of baskets by senior Lindsay Marsh (Bristol, CT) and a three pointer by freshman Tara Driscoll (Swampscott, MA) to take a, 37-30, lead at 15:43.  The Corsairs lead hovered around the three and four point margin until a three point play by DelleChiaie at 7:31 gave Worcester State their first lead of the contest, 50-49.  The lead would be short lived, however, as a trey by Ashley Chard (Burlington, CT) gave the Corsairs the lead back for good as they went on to the 7 point victory.

DelleChiaie paced the Lancers with 22 points and 9 rebounds while George scored a career high 21 points.  UMass Dartmouth was led by Ashmeade who had a game-high 24 points.  Driscoll and Marsh each reached double figures with 12 and 11, respectively.
