Alexis George Named MASCAC Player of the Week

Worcester, MA --- Sophomore guard Alexis George has been selected Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week after she helped lead Worcester State to a 2-0 week with a pair of conference victories over Fitchburg State and Worcester State. George was also tabbed to the New England Women's Basketball Association Team of the Week on the honor roll.

George, a native of Worcester, MA, averaged 18.5 points and five rebounds over the course of the week which included a career-best 26 points with five boards in a 69-49 triumph over the Bears and 11 points in a 51-37 victory over the Falcons. George also connected for 65 percent (15-for-23) from the field for the week.

George is currently seventh in the MASCAC in scoring with 12.1 points per game while she ranks 14th in the conference in field goal percentage (.372). George has also tallied 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists, which are fourth and third on the team, respectively.

The Lancers are back in action this evening when they will face-off against nationally ranked Tufts on "Senior Night" at 7 PM before heading to Salem State on Saturday for their season finale at 4.
