WCBA Pink Zone Website

On Saturday, February 20, the Worcester State College women's basketball team will be one of 1,600 teams and organizations participating in the WBCA Pink Zone initiative during the week of Feb. 12-21st. All proceeds will be donated to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer fund. The action begins at 4 PM in the season finale against Salem State College.

The women's basketball players will be wearing pink warmups in honor of the event. Pink t-shirts, cups and Crocs will also be on sale with all proceeds going towards the cause. Please help us get in the "Pink Zone" and the team and athletic department by wearing pink while attending the game.

Pink Zone (formerly "Think Pink") is an initiative by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) to raise awareness about breast cancer and to raise money for breast cancer research. It began in 2007 with about 120 schools and in 2009, 1,600 participating teams and organizations helped raise over $1.3 million. The WBCA's charity of choice is the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund, in partnership with The V Foundation.

In the afternoon the women's basketball team will have their annual alumni game at 1 o'clock and after the pre-game warmups of the women's game, this years senior class will be recognized for playing in their last regular season last home game. The men's basketball team will also face Salem State at 6 PM.
