George Selected MASCAC Player Of The Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Senior guard Alexis George has been named this week's Women's Basketball MASCAC Player of the Week for her performance in a triumph against UMass Dartmouth last Tuesday. For George this is the second time she has recieved the honor in her career.

George, a native of Worcester, MA who went to high school at Holy Name, scored a game-high 21 points with three rebounds as she shot 8-for-16 from the field in a 79-55 triumph over UMass Dartmouth. The effort helped up the Lancers record to 3-1.

George currently leads the squad with 53 points as her total is the fourth highest amount in the MASCAC. She is also tied for 17th in average scoring (13.3) and tied for 12th in free throw percentage and steals (7).

In 80 career games, George has scored a total of 852 points as she is only 148 points away from being the 16th women's basketball player to join the 1,000 point club.

The Lancers will play tonight against Babson at 7 PM, who is ranked 12th nationally in last weeks USA Today/ESPN/WCBA poll.
