Charette Selected To All-MASCAC Women's Basketball Team

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior guard Kaleigh Charette (Fairhaven, MA) has been tabbed to the second-team of this year's All-MASCAC team in a vote by the leagues seven head coaches on Monday.  

Charette, who was also honored on the second-team during the 2009-10 season as a sophomore, has been solid for the Lancers in all 26 games as she led the team in scoring (10.2 PPG while her rebounds are second on the squad (5.7 RPG).

Through this afternoon, Charette is ranked in the top 15 in several categories which include average scoring and rebounding, total scoring (265 points – 9th), total rebounds (149 – 10th), steals per game (1.6 – 10th), free throw percentage (.647 – 10th) and assists per game (2.2 – 12th).

Charette has also helped the Lancers on the defensive end of the floor as they are second in the conference in points allowed per game (54.9 PPG) and field goal percentage allowed (.353).

In 82 career games Charette boosts totals of 817 points (9.9 PPG), 461 rebounds (5.6 RPG), 127 assists (1.55 APG) and 116 steals (1.19 SPG).

Under the direction of 17th year head coach Karen Tessmer, the Lancers are currently 13-13 overall and they ended their conference slate at 6-6 record last week. #4 Worcester State heads to top-seeded Westfield State in the semifinal round of the MASCAC Tournament tomorrow at 7 PM.
