Gigi LeMay, Elizabeth Gallella Garner MASCAC All-Conference Nods

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior Gigi LeMay (Grafton, Mass.) and junior Elizabeth Gallella (Tewksbury, Mass.) have been named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's basketball All-Conference team, announced on Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.

LeMay was named to the First Team, voted on by coaches from across the conference, while Gallella earned a Second Team selection.

It's the first All-MASCAC selection for Gallella and the second for LeMay, who was a Second Team honoree in 2020.

LeMay was a double-double machine, racking up double-digit points and rebounds in the same game on 11 occasions this year.  As such, she was the third leading scorer in the conference, averaging 16.0 points per game, and the fourth leading rebounder, with 11.1 boards. LeMay actually had the highest rebounding total in the conference with 289 rebounds, good for 17th in the country. She was 27th in the country in steals, with 75, good for second in the conference, and 16th in the nation with 187 field goals made. With 20 blocks, LeMay was tied for third in the MASCAC, while her 76 assists ranked 7th in the conference.

Gallella, who was third in the conference with 88 assists, averaged 9.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Lancers, who reached the MASCAC semifinals as the #4 seed. Gallella recorded a season-high 9 assists in a win over Salem State on January 24th, and had seven games with five or more assists. She nearly had a triple-double on January 15th at Westfield State when she had 19 points, 14 rebounds and 9 steals. The junior guard was seventh in the conference with 3.0 offensive rebounds per game, ad fourth in the MASCAC with 3.4 assists per outing.
