Waldron Claims her Ninth MASCAC Rookie of the Week as Lancers Sweep Regular Season Honor

Worcester, MA- For the 11th time this season, the Worcester State Women's Basketball team has been awarded the MASCAC Rookie of the week, sweeping the regular season in the category. This week's awardee received it for the ninth time this season, as Lena Waldron (Quincy, MA) received the honor after a 1-1 week for the Lancers.

Waldron averaged 10.5 points, three rebounds and a steal in a 1-1 week for the Lancers. Scored 15 points with five rebounds and two steals in the 77-35 win over MCLA. In her first season Waldron recorded 244 points with 150 rebounds, 38 assists, 29 steals and seven blocks.

Joining Waldron as an honorable mention this week is senior Katie Hurynowicz (Tyngsboro, MA) who averaged 14 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals in a 1-1 week for the Lancers. Finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals in the 77-35 win over MCLA. On the season Hurynowicz has 413 points and 191 rebounds, 66 assists, 59 steals and 14 blocks.

Worcester State is back in action on Tuesday at 7pm when they head to Salem State for a MASCAC Quarterfinal matchup.
