Conway's Five Point Week Earns ECHA Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Worcester State University senior forward Clare Conway (Billerica, MA/NS Wings) has been named Player of the Week by the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance.

Conway picked up three goals and two assists for five points over the 1-0-1 weekend for the Lancers. The five-point weekend included a natural hat trick, to lead the Lancers to a come-from-behind win over the Golden Bears of Western New England University. Conway opened the scoring to give Worcester State a 1-0 lead over the Golden Bears, and then scored twice in the final period, including the game-winner with just 51 seconds remaining.

The next night, Conway had two assists in a 4-4 tie with the Golden Bears at Olympia Ice Center in Springfield. Conway twice set up teammate Katie Puumala, who would record her own hat trick as the Lancers tooka 3-0 lead in the second period.

Conway, Puumala and the Lancers return to the ice on Saturday evening when they host Salve Regina at 6:10 pm at Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.
