Lancers Boast ECHA Player, Goalie of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. -- With the Worcester State women's ice hockey team on a three-game win streak, two student-athletes were selected as Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) Players of the Week.

Junior Cassidhe Wozniak (Turners Falls, Mass.) was named Co-Player of the Week, and junior goalie Amber Lee (Nashua, N.H.) was named Goalie of the Week.

Wozniak picked up five points on one goal and four helpers over the 2-0-0 week for the Lancers. Wozniak notched one goal and two assists in Worcester's 7-0 victory over Rivier University and added two assists, including a secondary assist on the game winning goal in a 4-1 win over Anna Maria on Sunday afternoon.

Lee earned back to back wins, including a 16-save shutout over Rivier, her second shutout of the season. She stopped 22 of 23 shots in the win over the Amcats, their first ECHA victory of the year. Lee earned a .973 SV% and a .500 GAA in the 2-0-0 week.

Unbeaten in their last four games, the Lancers will take the ice at home on Friday night when they host Connecticut College at 7:10 PM.
