Worcester State Women's Ice Hockey Makes it Two in a Row

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's ice Hockey took on Plymouth State in the second game of the season in as many days. The Lancers came off an overtime victory last night over Nichols and were looking for another strong performance this evening. The Lancers came away with the victory with a game winning goal by sophomore Emily Pavoni (Granby, MA) in the second period.

The Lancers were the scored the first three goals of the game in a 10-minute span that quickly saw them up 3-0 over the host Panthers. Bateman got the scoring going just 12 minutes into the game to set start the momentum for Worcester. Just four minutes later, Conway knocked in a pass from Puumala on a power play to extend the lead to 2-0. Just two minutes into the second period saw the Lancers Pavoni score off a pass from Vautour through Bateman for the game winner, which came early in what would eventually be a 3-2 game for Worcester. The Panthers were not quick to concede fighting through the remainder of the game, even being awarded a late third period power play, but the Lancers held strong and closed it out for the win.

MacGlashing led the team with 6 shots on the game while Bateman ended the night with one goal and one assist.

The Lancers (2-0-0, 0-0-0) are back in action on November 4, when they head to Castleton State for a 6pm faceoff.
