Owls Soar Past Lancers

Owls Soar Past Lancers

Worcester, MA- It was a chilly morning at John Coughlin Memorial Field as the Worcester State Lancers (0-4-1, 0-1) took on the Westfield State Owls (3-4, 1-0) in a conference matchup with the Lancers looking for their first win of the season.

This MASCAC game was dedicated to "Katie's Save", an organization in memoriam to Stanford women's goalkeeper Katie Meyer. The Worcester State Lancer women goalkeepers have pledged to raise money for the cause by donating $1 for every save and will present the final sum to Katie's save.

The Katie's Save movement's initial effort for change is to implement a University Policy designed to offer students an option to enable and require the university/college to send a notification to a Designated Advocate regarding instances when the student is involved in a situation that could evolve into challenging circumstances where they may need guidance and support.
