Kralian Named MASCAC Track & Field Athlete of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Sophomore Mara Kralian has been selected as this week's MASCAC Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week after she had a sensational performance at the Smith Winter Invitational this past weekend. This is the third time in her two years at WSC that Kralian has been distinguished with the honor.

Kralian, who hails from North Grafton, MA, captured top honors in the long jump (5.44 meters), 55 meters (7.35) and 200 meters (26.30) as she eclipsed three school records in all three events. Kralian was one of two athletes nation-wide to qualify provisionally for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in the long jump while she also stamped her ticket to the ECAC's in the 55 and the 200.

Kralian shattered the 55 (7.41 FAT) and 200 (25.35) records that were held by Nicole Spence and set in 1995 at Wesleyan and 1997 at Boston University, respectively, while the long jump mark of 17-1 was set by Lancer Hall of Famer Elke Aun in 1996.

The Women's Indoor track and field team will wrap up their December schedule at Harvard this Saturday.
