Springfield, MA --- Junior Amanda Caldarone (Danvers, MA) and classmate Brittany Hodgerney (Leicester, MA) both placed second in their respective events as they both helped pace the Worcester State women's indoor track and field team to fifth overall at the Springfield Invitational.

Ramapo won the meet with 121.5 points while the Blue and Gold tallied 43 as a team.

Caldarone had a leap of 16-10, which was just off the ECAC standard, in the long jump (5.13 meters) and she was eighth in the 60 meter hurdles (9.86). Hodgerney timed 27.26 in the 200 meters and fifth in the 60 (8.27).

Senior Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) added third in the 60 meter hurdles (9.37) and eighth in the 60 (8.42) while junior Alexandria McMahon (E. Longmeadow, MA) was fourth in the 400 (1:03.02) and 10th in the long jump (15-8.75/4.79m).

Junior Chelsey Peso (Uxbridge, MA) clocked fourth in the 3,000 (11:28.15), freshman Jessica Krafft (Milford, NH) was fifth in the 200 (27.54) and sophomore Emily Riehl (Trumbull, CT) registered seventh in the 400 (1:04.26).

In the field, senior Hannah Werneth (N. Yarmouth, ME) qualifed for the ECAC Championships with fourth in the shot put (38-1.25/11.61m).

Junior Cayla Leinonen (Spencer, MA) and freshman Erin McIntyre (Whitinsville, MA) also both cleared Division III New England Championship heights in the high jump with sixth and seventh, respectively.

Third-year Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) had strong performances all over the track with seventh in the long jump (16-1/4.90m), eighth in the shot put (36-3/11.05m) and ninth in the 60 meter hurdles (9.93).

Sophomore Hanna Carson (Natick, MA) notched seventh in the shot put (36-4.5/11.09m) and junior Shannon Trybus (Bondsville, MA) had a heave of 10th in the weight throw (38-8.25/11.79m).

Next week the Lancers will compete again at the third Springfield Invitational.
