Springfield, MA --- Senior teammates Hannah Werneth (N. Yarmouth, ME) and Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) both put up solid performances in their respective events as they helped pace the Worcester State women's indoor track and field team to seventh overall at the Springfield Invitational.

The Lancers ended the meet with 51 points while nationally-ranked Williams won the competition with 195 points.

Deininger continued her strong season in the 60 meter hurdles (9.21) as the runner-up to Wheaton senior Ashante Little (Seabrook, NH), who has the top time in Division III in the event while Werneth was the lone first-place finisher with 37-4.50 in the shot put (11.39 meters).

As of this evening, Deininger's split today is tied for the 27th best time in the NCAA Division III.

In her first pentathlon of the campaign, junior Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) tallied 2,832 points, which was just 334 off the top spot.
