Women’s 4x200 Claim Crown at MASCAC Indoor Championships

NORTON, Mass. – The Worcester State women's 4x200 meter relay team ran to a conference championship on Saturday afternoon at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships at Wheaton College.

Juniors Elena Pellegrini (Ashland, Mass.), Maureen Grady (Douglas, Mass.) and Avonia Herbert (Sharon, Mass.) and sophomore Bridget Maunsell took the top spot on the podium thanks to a finish in a time of 1:50.15. They topped Westfield State, who took second by more than a second (1:51.31).

Pellegrini was third in the women's 60-meter dash, while Herbert and Maunsell went 5th and 6th, respectively in the 200-meter dash final.

Kasey Clark (Dudley, Mass.) placed fourth in the women's mile, with a finish of 5:42.41, and Erica Hanlon () took fourth in the 800 meters (2:42.46). Caitlin Conneely (Tewksbury, Mass.) was seventh in the 3000 meters.

On the men's side, Robert Doig (Ashby, Mass.) placed 5th in the 600 meters, finishing in a time of 1:33.51.

The 4x200 relay team of Brendan Sharkey (Fort Wayne, Ind.), Kyle Haley (Mansfield, Mass.), Anthony Paolucci and Brian O'Leary took fourth, while Daniel Clark placed fifth overall in the finals of the men's 800 meters.
