Worcester, MA- The Women's Indoor Track team traveled to New London, CT today to compete in the Coast Guard Winter Invite. First Year Erin Condon (East Bridgewater, MA), and the Women's 4x200m relay team made up of senior Maureen Grady (Douglas, MA), junior Eryca Lopes (Ayer, MA), senior Bridget Maunsell (West Boylston, MA) and Condon, led the action for the Lancers in their first meet of 2023.
The Women's 4x200m relay team finished in fourth place with a time of 1:53.34.88 while Condon herself placed third in the Women 400m with a time of 1:03.41. Senior Elena Pellegrini (Ashland, MA) also found success on the afternoon in sprinting with her fourth-place finish in the Women's 200m with a time of 28.04 seconds. First year Jillian McMenemy (Westborough, MA) finished with a strong time of 3:23.44 in the Women's 800m, continuing her success from the cross-country season, finishing in ninth place. Fellow cross country teammates seniors Erica Hanlon (Shrewsbury, MA) and Angela Nigro (Webster, MA) competed strong in the mile. Hanlon recorded a time of 6:08.70 for a 16th place finish while Nigro crossed at 7:07.43 for 24th.
The Lancers continued to find success on the track with Arianna Constant's 8.52m throw in the Women's weight throw and 6m toss in the shot put that saw her wrap up a 10th and 11th place finish in the events. Lopes also did more double event duty on the afternoon with her 4.23m jump for 10th in the long jump and a 9.68m jump for fourth in the triple jump.
The Lancers Track team is back in action next Saturday when they head to Wheaton College for the Lyons Invitational.
