Donohue Named MASCAC Co-Female Track Athlete of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Worcester State sophomore Erin Donohue (Saugus, MA) has been selected as this week's MASCAC Co-Female Track Athlete of the Week for her long-distance performance in a second-place team finish for the Lancers at Worcester City Meet.

Donohue captured top honors in the 10,000 meters as she clocked 41:05.94 to eclipse a 15-year old record and qualify for the Division III New England Outdoor championships. Donohue shaved 17 seconds off the previous mark in the event which was previously held by Erica Pierce (41:23.54).

This past winter, Donohue shattered Pierce's 14-year old mark in the 3,000 meters three times in a four-week stretch before finally setting a new mark of 10:41.61.

Donohue shared this week's honors with Bridgewater State's Co Davis (Mansfield, MA).

Worcester State will compete again at the Jim Sheehan Invitational this weekend at Fitchburg State.
