Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior Mara Kralian (N. Grafton, MA) has been named this week's MASCAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week for helping lead Worcester State at the MIT Spring Invitational.
Kralian took top honors and qualified for the All-Open New England's in the long jump (5.36 meters) before she helped run a leg of the winning 4x100 meter relay team (49.82). Kralian is currently tied for third in New England in the latest long jump standings after this weekend.
During the indoor season at the Division III New England's, Kralian distinguished herself with second in the 55 meters, sixth in the long jump and seventh in the 200 to earn All-New England honors in each event.
In addition to provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Indoor's in the long jump in January, Kralian also earned All-Open New England honors in the long jump (sixth place) and the 60 meter dash (eighth place).
The Lancers will compete at the Silfen Invitational next week at Connecticut College as a warm-up to the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships, which will be held on April 30 at Fitchburg State.
