MASCAC Weekly Women's Track Release
Bethlehem, PA --- Junior Mara Kralian (N. Grafton, MA) helped the women's track and field team score 19 points for a finish of 12th place on Friday afternoon at the ECAC Division III Championships at Morvarian College.
Ithaca won the meet with 80.50 points followed by MIT (77.50), Tufts (54), SUNY Cortland (42) while the Lancers had the fifth-highest finish for a state school in the 56-team competion.
Kralian earned All-ECAC honors with third in the 100 meter dash (12.62) before she placed fourth in the long jump (5.35 meters).
Kralian also helped the 4x100 meter relay team take home second-place honors with junior Sarah Rafferty (Uxbridge, MA), sophomore Briana Wise (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) and freshman Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA). The team timed a school-record time of 48.77 which was only 2 hundreths of a second off of beating the top finish of SUNY Cortland (48.76).
The time clocked was 12 hundreths of a second off provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships (48.65) while it was 69 hundreths off of the 16th seeded team in the championship field, Nebraska Wesleyan (48.08).
This meet concludes the season for the Lancers.
Thursdays Release
Bethlehem, PA --- For the third time this season, sophomore Erin Donohue (Saugus, MA) placed 14th (39:53.29) while junior Mara Kralian (N. Grafton, MA) burned the track with a top-time of 12.45 in the 100 meters as both set new school records at the first day of the ECAC Division III Championships hosted by Moravian College.
There was no team scoring after the opening day of competition.
Both reset the marks that they finished and set at the Division III New England's two weeks ago. Kralian qualified for the finals as she will run as the top-seed.
Sophomore Briana Wise (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) placed 12th in the 100 (12.91) while freshman Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) and classmate Amanda Holden (Lunenburg, MA) recorded 17th (15.45) and 28th (16.13) in the in the 100 meter hurdles, respectively.
