Women's Outdoor Track and Field Competes in Final Day of DIII New England

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Outdoor Track and Field spent today competing in several events in a bid to clinch qualification to the NCAA Championships later this month.

On the final day of the NCAA Regionals, senior Avonia Herbert (Sharon, MA) and the dominant Lancers Relay teams stepped into the action. Hebert would come away from the day with an impressive 10.92m triple jump to see her finish in 16th place at the event. The highest finish of the day came from the 4x400m team made up of seniors Elena Pellegrini (Ashland, MA), Heather Turner (Ashland, MA) and Bridget Maunsell (West Boylston, MA) along with first year Erin Condon (East Bridgewater, MA). They crossed in a time of 4:17.80 for 12th place. The 4x100m team did not disappoint either made up of Pellegrini, Turner, Maunsell and senior Maureen Grady (Douglas, MA) they crossed in a speedy 50.48 seconds for 15th on the day.
