Worcester State Places Third in MASCAC Preseason Coaches Poll

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Track and Field team was selected 3rd  in this years preseason coaches' poll as voted on by the conference coaches. Worcester State claimed a MASCAC Conference titles last year and two in the indoor season behind first year Jadah Stokes (Savannah, GA) who will look, along with first year Ciara Adu-Addo (Worcester, MA) and senior Eryca Lopes (Ayer, MA), to take dominant control of the season.

With four first place votes, Westfield State grabbed three individual crowns and the final relay while Bridgewater State earns the final two first place votes.

Worcester State comes in next on the poll in third with 15 points. The Lancers were the fifth-place team at last year's meet. Eryca Lopes finished in 6th with a 9.63m leap in the triple jump. She also was ninth in the long jump with a 4.68 mark.

Fitchburg State is the fourth team in this year's poll followed in fifth and sixth with Framingham State and Massachusetts Maritime.

Worcester State kicks off their season this Saturday, March 23rd, when they head to Bridgewater State for the BSU Bears Invite.
