Medford, MA --- One of four seniors playing on Seniors' Night at Tufts, Kate Denniston (Tarzana, CA) recorded 12 kills, four service aces and two blocks to lead the Jumbo volleyball team to an easy 3-0 victory against Worcester State College at Cousens Gym on Wednesday night.

The Jumbos improved to 25-2 overall with set scores of 25-14, 25-13 and 25-15 in a match that lasted just an hour. Worcester State dropped its fifth consecutive match and fell to 16-10 overall.

Senior Stacy Filocco (Olney, MD) made her usual well-rounded contribution with eight kills, 10 digs and two service aces. Senior Maya Ripecky (Chicago, IL) led Tufts with 14 digs, while Natalie Goldstein (Piedmont, CA) rounded out the senior stats with six digs, three assists and an ace.

Visiting Worcester State was led offensively by seven kills from junior Lauren Saylor (Swansea, MA). Freshman Brittany Stoddard (Orange, MA) set the offense with 15 assists. On the defensive side, first-year Joanne Grenier (Orange, MA) finished with 11 digs.

Tufts next plays its biggest match of the season as it turns out. They travel to play at Wesleyan on Friday night, with the winner clinching first place in NESCAC and the right to host the conference tournament November 7-9. Worcester State is also next in action on Friday night with matches in the Bridgewater State College Halloween Classic against Framingham State and Keene State.
