Worcester State 3, Simmons 0

Boston, MA --- Freshman Megan Brown (Dartmouth, MA) posted a team-high 10 kills while senior Michelle Maass (Halifax, MA) recorded a season-best 24 digs to help lead Worcester State to a 3-0 victory this evening over Simmons in non conference action.

The Lancers improved their record to 3-4 as they won in three straight sets 25-18, 25-15 and 25-23. With the loss the Sharks fall to 0-3.

Juniors Kristen Koles (Billerica, MA) and Katey Figella (Feeding Hills, MA) each recorded seven kills apiece while first-year Shawna Strazzere (Billerica, MA) added 24 assists and two aces.

The Blue and Gold will take a break until they play in the Worcester City Tournament at Assumption to take on WPI in the opening round at 11 AM while Simmons heads to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational over the weekend.
