Brown Tabbed MASCAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- First-year outside hitter Megan Brown has been selected Co-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Confernce (MASCAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for her performance in a 4-0 week for the Lancers.

Brown, a product of Dartmouth, MA, averaged 11.5 kills, 9.3 digs and 2.5 aces in four victories which inlcuded 18 kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 triumph over MCLA while she also added 21 kills and 21 digs with five aces in a pair of 3-0 wins over Bay Path and Newbury.

Through the first three weeks of the season in 53 sets, Brown is third in the MASCAC in average digs (3.23), fourth in total kills (136), fifth in average kills (2.57) and sixth in hitting percentage (.265). The first-year standout also leads the team with 171 digs.

Brown shared this week's honors with junior Kerin DeGirolamo (N. Attleboro, MA) of Westfield State.

The Lancers are currently 9-7 on the season with a 2-0 record in conference play after a pair of wins this past weekend over the Trailblazers and Mass Maritime. Worcester State's next contest is against Becker on Thursday at 7 PM.
