Westfield, MA --- #2 Bridgewater State handed third-seeded Worcester State a 3-0 setback this afternoon in the semifinals of the MASCAC Tournament. The Lancers, who finished the season at 15-17 overall, lost in straight sets to the Bears, 25-11, 25-15 and 25-17.
Sophomore Becky Lebel (Millbury, MA) paced the Blue and Gold with seven kills and a block assist while freshmam Megan Brown (Dartmouth, MA) had a great all-around game with five kills, four digs, a block assist and one service ace.
Second-year Jodi Hallett (Gill, MA) and freshman Shawna Strazzere (Billerica, MA) combined to handed out 24 assists while junior Kristen Koles (Billerica, MA) and senior Brittney Ledoux (Nashua, NH) each contributed four kills. Fourth-year Michelle Maass (Halifax, MA) added a team-best six digs.
