Women's Volleyball Eliminated From ECAC Quarterfinals

Keene, NH --- The number two seeded Keene State College Owls soared past the number seven seeded Worcester State 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-15) in an ECAC Quarterfinal match at Spaulding Gymnasium.

The Owls improve to 25-12 on the season, while the Lancers end their 2010 campaign with a 15-18 record.

Leading the way for the Owls, sophomore Ali Facchini (Niantic, CT) had nine kills, a .467 hitting percentage and six total blocks in the win. Junior's Kristen Girard (Tivoli, NY) and Bridget O'Bryant (Merrimack, NH) had seven and six kills respectively for KSC. Junior setter Laurie Whalen (Niantic, CT) had 29 assists to quarterback the Owls attack, while senior libero Jamie Levine (Medford, MA) had 10 digs in her final home match.

For the Lancers, freshman Megan Brown (Dartmouth, MA) and senior opposite Brittney Ledoux (Nashua, NH) each had five kills. Freshmen setter Shawna Strazzere (Billerica, MA) had 13 assists, while senior libero Michelle Maass (Halifax, MA) had a match-high 11 digs in her final match.

The Owls advance to the ECAC Semifinals to face Plymouth State Saturday, at 5:30 PM at top-seeded Endicott.
