Seven On Women's Volleyball Team Earn MASCAC Fall All-Academic Laurels

 

Westfield, MA --- Underscored by senior Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA), along with junior teammates Kaylee Leduc (Swansea, MA) and Samantha Patterson (Fayetteville, NC), seven were chosen to represent the women's volleyball team on the MASCAC Fall All-Academic team as announced by conference publicist Emily Diekelmann.

For Jasper it marks the fourth time she has been distinguished while Leduc earned her third certificate and Patterson is a repeat selection.

Others on the squad included sophomore Courtney Salisbury (Cranston, RI), freshman Quinn Donovan (Marion, MA), classmate Alysia Pearce (Pepperell, MA) and first-year Megan Rouillard (Barrington, NH).

To earn a spot on the MASCAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester based grade point average during their semester of competition.

Under the watchful eye of 12th-year head coach Bernie Chase, the Lancers went 24-10 and while tying for their second-highest win total in program history. The Blue and Gold were also runners-up in the MASCAC Tournament and earned a spot in the semifinals of the ECAC Division III New England Women's Volleyball Tournament.

Among institutions in the MASCAC, Worcester State had 99 overall selections on the league fall academic honor roll for the third highest total in the conference. The total number of WSU student-athletes also marked the highest since the league began listing its all-academic honor roll on a season-by-season basis during the 2009-10 academic year.
