Women's Volleyball Splits Against Falcons and Broncos

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University women's volleyball team earned a split on Saturday in tri-match at John P. Brissette Court. Worcester State defeated Fitchburg State 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-14) in the opener, before falling to SUNY Delhi 3-1 (15-25, 25-20, 22-25, 16-25).

With the split, Worcester State moves to 4-11 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.

In the opener, Natalie Gillis (Ashland, Mass.) earned 12 kills, one service ace, ten digs and one block assist. Maeve Cadogan (Wilmington, Mass.) recorded six kills and four block assists in the Lancers' conference victory.

Leelle Tyler (Longmeadow, Mass.) grabbed a match high 15 kills along with six digs and a block assist in the effort. Gillis recorded 14 kills, one service ace, 17 digs and a block assist in the nightcap.

Worcester State heads back to the court in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Bridgewater State on Wednesday. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
