Beccia Earns Individual Runner-Up Honors For Women's Cross Country At City Meet

 

Paxton, MA --- Sophomore Erin Beccia (Rutland, MA) was just 16 seconds off the top spot with a second place finish of 20:15 to help lead the Worcester State women's cross country team to second overall at the Worcester City Meet this morning at Moore State Park.

Assumption won their seventh City Meet title with 25 points followed by the Lancers who tallied 56. Clark (91 points) and Fitchburg State (107) rounded out the top four squads out of eight who competed at today's meet.

Senior Chelsey Peso (Uxbridge, MA) took fourth as she was just off the pace (20:30) while classmate Maggie Ingraham (Danvers, MA) notched 14th (22:24) and sophomore Katherine Becker (Haverhill, MA) was right behind in 16th (22:30).

Freshman Kaleigh Flagg (Winchendon, MA), classmate Sara McIsaac (Weymouth, MA) and sophomore Melanie Hunter (Maynard, MA) recorded 25th (23:27), 32nd (23:47) and 35th (23:58), respectively.

Worcester State takes a week off before competing at the Westfield State Invitational on October 11 at Stanley Park.
