Rogers Tabbed MASCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's Mia Rogers (N. Dighton, Mass.) has been tabbed the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's cross country runner of the week, as announced by the league Monday (Sep. 18) afternoon.

This past weekend, Rogers came in sixth place out of 299 runners from all three divisions at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. She completed the 5K course in a time of 18:40 which broke her previous course record by 17 seconds.

"Mia looked much stronger than she did in last week's race," mentioned head coach, Gary Jusseaume.  "With the coming adjustments to distance and speed work interval training, Mia will realize significantly better performances leading to the NCAA Regionals."

Overall, the Lancers came in 9th place out of 40 teams – which is a top finish by the Worcester State women's cross country team at this meet.

Next up, the Lancers look forward to hosting the Worcester City Meet at Moore State Park in Paxton, Mass. on Saturday, September 23.
