Worcester State Women Finish Strong at Paul Short

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Cross-Country team was on the road this afternoon to Lehigh, PA to compete in the Paul Short Invitational against a stacked national competition. The team compiled a team score of 938 on the 6k course.

The Lancers were led by first year Nina Fonteix (Elancourt, France), who finished with a time of 25:15.2 to place 156 out of 334 runners. Following her teammate by seconds was junior Caitlin Conneely (Tewksbury, MA) with a new personal record time of 25:46.6, finished closely by fellow junior Erica Hanlon (Shrewsbury, MA) with a time of 26:09.4. First year Leah Berg (Worcester, MA) crossed the line just over a second after Hanlon's finish. Rounding out the top five finishers was first year Emily Colantuoni (Haverhill, MA) with a time of 29:41.4

First year Jillian Bolster (Westborough, MA) finished the run with a time of 31:22.6 while junior Angela Nigro (Webster, MA) wrapped up the runners with a finish of 32:40.0.

The Worcester State Women's Cross-Country team is back on the course October 8 at the James Early Invitational in Westfield, MA.
