Lancers Close out Fall Regular Season at Connecticut College Invitational

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Cross-Country took to the course this morning at the Connecticut College Invitational in a final training run for the team before switching gears to champion ship and post season races.

Worcester State carried a scale backed team to Connecticut for their final tune up race, but still had a strong individual showing with all four of their runners finishing in the top 100 racers at the meet. The Lancers were led by junior Erica Hanlon (Shrewsbury, MA) who completed the 6k course in a time of 26:42.8, crossing the finish in 63rd place. Close on her heals was first year Leah Berg (Worcester, MA) who came in 10 spots back with a time of 27:26.3. Closing out the top 100 finishers on the morning was first year Emily Colantuoni (Haverhill, MA) at 31:12.6, and junior Angela Nigro (Webster, MA) who were separated by eight seconds, 31:20.7, in there 99th and 100th place finishes.  

The Worcester State Women's Cross-Country team returns to action after a two-week hiatus when they head back to Stanley Park in Westfield, MA to take race for MASCAC Conference Championship where they placed third last year.
