Narcisse Named Corvais Co-ECAC Northeast Defensive Player of the Week

Danbury, CT --- Senior Bryan Narcisse (Medway, MA) has been selected Corvais Co-ECAC Division III Northeast Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding contributions on the defensive line this past Friday in a victory over WPI.

Narcrisse recorded six tackles (four solo), two sacks for 10 yards including one in the end-zone for a team safety in a 30-17 triumph against the Engineers.

Through the first two contests of the season, Narcisse is second in the conference in sacks (3) and his tackles for a loss are tied for sixth (4). He also anchors a team that tops the MASCAC in sacks (12) while also being second in scoring defense (11.5 PPG), rushing defense (77.0 YPG) and total defense (255.5 YPG).

Due in large part to the outstanding pass rush, the Blue and Gold have limited their opponents to convert a meager .118 percent on third downs (4-for-34) for the sixth lowest clip in the NCAA Division III.

Over the course of his outstanding career, the two-time all-conference player and 2012 D3football.com All-East Second-team defensive lineman has 49.0 tackles for a loss, 23.5 sacks, four fumble recoveries and three forced miscues in 32 career games.

Earlier this week Narcisse was tabbed the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week. Last season three student-athletes were recognized by the ECAC including Adam Straughn (September 17), Kevin Bumpus (October 3) and Brian Gencarelli (October 3).

Narcisse shared the Corvais ECAC Division III Northeast Defensive Player of the Week honor with senior Aaron Black (Edmond, OK) of Coast Guard.

Worcester State (2-0), who recently debuted at sixth in this week's Division III New England Football Poll, will take on Bridgewater State on Saturday in their MASCAC opener. The home contest is scheduled for a 1 PM kickoff.
