Dartmouth, MA --- Junior David Rixham (Northbridge, MA) placed inside the top 50 individually to help lead Worcester State to 16th place on Saturday afternoon at the UMass Dartmouth Hampton Inn Invitational which was held at the par 72 Allendale Country Club.
The Lancers were 69 strokes off of Amherst who won the team title while they were 30 off of the top 10.
Rixham tied for 45th with a two-day score of 170 (+26) while freshman Steven Ferraro (Leicester, MA) placed 59th (175; +31), bettering his score by -1.
First-year Patrick Sharron (Boylston, MA) equaled 61st (177; +33) and handed in a card that was three strokes better than yesterday while junior Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) tied for 68th (181; +37). Davis was also -1 in the final round.
Freshman Anthony Bement (Attleboro, MA) finished 79th to round out the group (190; +46).
Blue and Gold continue their season on Tuesday when they host the second annual Rich Korzec Memorial Invitational, the MASCAC Championships and the Worcester City Championships at Blackstone National.
