Worcester, MA --- Senior attacker Shannon Feeley (W. Springfield, MA) tallied four goals and an assist while junior attacker Brittany Jamieson (Foxboro, MA) added a hat-trick and a helper to help lead Worcester State to a 12-10 victory this evening over Framingham State in non-conference women's lacrosse action. With the win the Lancers improve to 5-2 on the season while the Rams fall to 2-5.

WSC was also paced by junior Amanda Cosenza (Shrewsbury, MA) who scored a pair of goals while her sister Abby Cosenza dished out a pair of assists. On defense, junior Kim Vail (W. Newbury, MA) chipped in with a game-best six ground balls with three caused turnovers while senior Michelle Astuccio was solid as she picking up five balls on the turf.

Junior Ashley Noonan (Mansfield, MA) notched a contest-high six goals for Framingham State while freshman Kerry Kiley (Mansfield, MA) added a pair to give her a team leading 26 markers. Senior Kelleigh Sheehan (Rockland, MA) finished with five ground balls while sophomore Melissa Price (Norwood, MA) recorded four ground balls with two forced miscues.

The Lancers opened the game with a 4-1 advantage over the first 13 minutes of the contest with a pair of tallies from Feeley. After there was no scoring for the next six minutes the Rams scored three quick goals 1:14 apart to tie the score up 4-4 with 9:56 remaining in the first.

Feeley and senior Megan Rosborough (Uxbridge, MA) registered a pair of key free position shots at 6:54 and 5:46 to give Worcester State a 6-4 lead at the break.

Both squads traded goals to start the second stanza before the Lancers opened up their largest lead at 9-5 at 20:40 on two markers by Amanda Cosenza, with Feeley helping out on the second goal. With Feeley's dish it moved her within one assist of Ann Clark's career mark of 77.

The Rams then went on a 3-0 run to get within a goal of the lead five minutes later (9-8). Jamieson answered with an unassisted tally at 14:53 before Noonan tossed the second of sophomore Stephanie Corrales's (Framingham, MA) helpers into the net to threaten the lead at 8:59 (10-9).

But Feeley and Jamieson scored a pair of unassisted goals 40 seconds apart to give WSC the edge they needed to maintain the lead. Noonan tacked on another goal at 4:24 to make the score 12-10, but freshman keeper Haley Erickson (Saugus, MA) blocked Framingham State's last three shots to give the Lancers the hard-fought victory.

Erickson collected 12 saves to improve her record to 5-3 while sophomore Allesha Kenyon (Westford, MA) finished with 11 stops.

The Lancers held a 34-27 advantage in shots while both teams were even in ground balls. The Rams also turned the ball over slightly more than their counterparts, 23-20.

In a brief pre-game ceremony, Feeley, Rosborough, Astuccio, Brittney Cullen (Milford, MA) and Kim Cosenza (Fitchburg, MA) were honored on "Senior Night."

Worcester State will play its last home game against Becker on Saturday in a NEWLA contest at noon while Framingham State will host Simmons on Saturday at 11 AM before Lasell on Tuesday at 4:30.
