Worcester, MA --- Senior Shannon Feeley (W. Springfield, MA) highlighted three players who notched a hat trick and Feeley also ended the contest with six assists to help Worcester State defeat Becker College, 18-8, this afternoon in New England Women's Lacrosse action.

With the win the Lancers improve to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the NEWLA while the Hawks even out to 6-6 and 2-2 in the conference.

With her six helpers, Feeley now has 82 as she eclipsed the all-time assist record of 77 set by Ann Clark, who played for WSC from 2004-07.

Senior Megan Rosborough (Uxbridge, MA) and junior Brittany Jamieson (Foxboro, MA) recorded three goals to pace the Lancers while juniors Abby and Amanda Cosenza (Shrewsbury, MA) along with sophomore Colleen Manning (Plainville, MA) scored two markers apiece. Jamieson also dished out three assists. Defensively, junior Kim Vail (W. Newbury, MA) picked up four ground balls while her and Manning each caused two miscues.

Becker was led by freshman Nicole Lijana (Morrestown, NJ) who netted three goals while sophomore Tammy Mullen (Pottstown, PA) and first-year Morgan Hazen (Woodstock, VT) each contributed two goals for the Hawks. Sophomore keeper Alena Phongsa (Putnam, CT) along with junior Jennifer Ouellette (Merrimack, NH) combined for seven of Becker's 13 ground balls.

The Lancers jumped onto the board with a 10-0 lead with 15:39 left to play with two goals each from Rosborough and Jamieson. Feeley also tied the career assist record with Jamieson's second goal at 20:26 and broke it at 16:10 on senior Kim Cosenza's (Fitchburg, MA) first tally of the season.

Over the last 15 minutes of the period Becker scored three of the next five - with a pair of markers by Lijana - to trail 12-3 at the intermission.

Mullen opened the second half with a goal 48 seconds into the stanza before the Lancers rattled off the next four scores to go up 16-4 and pull away for good. Worcester State used the rest of the games time to run down the clock as they cruised for the victory.

Freshman goalie Haley Erickson (Saugus, MA) recorded six saves between the pipes for WSC while Phongsa collected 17 saves with 15 coming in the opening half.

Worcester State dominated in shots (39-18) while also holding a slight 17-13 edge in ground balls and caused turnovers (17-14).

The Lancers will start a three game road trip starting with Castleton State next Saturday at 2:30 while Becker entertains Anna Maria at 4 PM on Tuesday.
