New London, NH --- Sophomore Jackie Connors (Ashland, MA) tallied eight points on five goals and a trio of helpers to help lead Worcester State to a 15-4 victory over Colby-Sawyer in non-conference women's lacrosse action this afternoon.

The Lancers (9-3), who ran their winning streak to five, were also paced by junior Molly Kilday (Westford, MA) who distinguished herself with a hat-trick, five draws, four caused turnovers and a trio of ground balls.

Sophomore Katelyn Murphy (Billerica, MA) notched six ground balls to go with a pair of forced miscues while freshman Angelina Sutherland (Tyngsboro, MA) added five draws to help the Blue and Gold lead the category for the game, 17-4.

The visitors opened the contest with the 6-1 advantage over the first 18 minutes of play with five different goal scorers. Junior Angela Grassetti (Feeding Hills, MA) ended the run for the Lancers with some help by Connors at the 11:19 mark.

The Chargers (2-11), however, recieved a boost from freshman Paige Prokop (Woburn, MA) and sophomore Sara Berry (Bowdoinham, ME) in the waning moments of the first period to help the hosts trail 6-3 at the intermission.

Worcester State started off the second period by taking control of the contest with a 5-0 spurt to open up a 11-3 margin with a trifecta of goals and one helper by Connors in the skien. 

Following a tally by Berry with 10:52 remaining, the Lancers put the game away with four consecutive goals including two by Kilday for the final score. 

Freshman goalkeeper Lea Robichaud (Holden, MA) recorded six stops in the victory as she improved to 9-3 while freshman Kellie Lander (Ossipee, NH) turned aside nine shots for the Chargers.

WSU led in shots 33-14 and ground balls (25-24), but were not as successful on their attempts to clear. The vistors finished 9-for-17 for the game.

Colby-Sawyer went 15-for-20 on clears and used 13 forced miscues to create 27 WSU turnovers defensively.

With her goal and assist, sophomore Kaila Chase (Northbridge, MA) moved into eighth on the all-time scoring list and she became a member of the 100 point club. Kilday inched closer to the milestone as she sits at 99 points for her career.

Worcester State continues MASCAC play with a 7 PM home meeting on "Senior Night" against Salem State. Colby-Sawyer continues a three-game home stand with a matchup tomorrow against Green Mountain at 4 PM.
