Worcester State Falls to George Fox, 24-18

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – After winning their exhibition game against Meiji University 11-7 on Sunday (Mar. 20), the women's lacrosse team fell to George Fox Monday 24-18 afternoon on the campus of University of California – Santa Barbara for the second of their three spring games.

 

Against the Bruins, three Worcester State University players logged six points apiece, as senior Jackie Connors (Ashland, Mass.) scored five goals and assisted one. Kaila Chase (Northbridge, Mass.) and Alaina Martin (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) each scored four goals and assisted two apiece on the afternoon.

 

On the field, Amanda Pruyn (Tyngsboro, Mass.), Chase, and Connors each had two ground balls apiece. Connors, Katelyn Murphy (Billerica, Mass.), and Mackenzie Callini (W. Springfield, Mass.) registered three draw controls apiece. Overall, George Fox University outnumbered the Lancers in draw controls 19-12, and 16-8 in ground balls.

 

For the Bruins, Miranda Edwords (San Diego, Calif.) and Jess Hanson (El Dorado, Calif.) led the way with seven goals apiece, while Alexa Nakashimada (Canby, Ore.) scored four, and Lois Ray (Springfield, Ore.) chipped in three. Ashlie Hernandez (Westminster, Calif.) registered a game-high five ground balls; while Edwards recorded a game-high six draw controls.

 

The Lancers have their last game in California on Thursday (Mar. 23) where they will match up against Hope University at 2:00 p.m.  pacific time.
