Women's Lacrosse Named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, Three Named to Honor Roll

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - The Worcester State University women's lacrosse team received both individual and team academic awards on Tuesday from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

The Lancers were named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, while Lauren Arbec (Fairhaven, Mass.), Kylie Hill (Lunenburg, Mass.), and Hannah Nolan (Pepperell, Mass.) to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

To be named to the Academic Honor Squad, teams needed to achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 for the 2020-21 academic year. For the Academic Honor Roll, individual student-athletes who have achieved junior, senior, or graduate student status academically with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or greater were eligible.

"I am extremely proud of the effort this team and these individuals put into their academics," said head coach Kelly Downs. "They strive to be not only the best on the field but the best in the classroom, and their hard work does not go unnoticed."
