Women's Lacrosse Tied For Third in MASCAC Preseason Poll

WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Worcester State University women's lacrosse team has been selected to finish in a tie for third in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Preseason Poll.

Westfield State University received the most votes in the conference with 35 points and five first place votes. Framingham State University finished in second with 31 points and two first place votes. The Lancers and the Bridgewater State Bears both tallied 24 points, leaving them in a tie for third. Following them in the poll were Mass. Maritime, Fitchburg State, and Salem State respectively. The full results of the poll can be seen below. 

The Worcester State Lancers were only able to compete in five games in the 2020 season before the campaign was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Lancers will return a handful of key contributors in 2021 in Lily Gendron (seven goals, one assist in 2020), Kylie Hill (five goals, six assists) and Abby Magnuson (six goals, four assists). Their defense will be headlined by upperclassmen Lauren Arbec and Abby Lauzon.

Worcester State will begin their season on March 24th at Western New England University.
