RAMS CHARGE PAST LANCERS

Worcester, Mass. – The Framingham State University Rams bested the Worcester State University Lancers, 17-10 in women's lacrosse action on Wednesday night at Coughlin Field.

Worcester State got on the board first on an Abby Lauzon (Lakeville, MA) goal, just 26 seconds into play. Framingham's Tara Palermo would tie the score at one just under a minute later. In the second minute of play Worcester's junior attack, Shea Jarvis (Auburn, MA) would add the go-ahead goal assisted by Lauzon. The Lancer lead was short-lived as Framingham would score five straight before senior attack, Clare Conway (Billerica, MA) would net a Lancer score on a feed from Lauzon. Framingham's Palermo would add the final tally of the quarter to put the Rams up 7-3.

Worcester's Hannah Erickson (Dunstable, MA) registered the first goal of the second quarter to cut the deficit to three. Framingham's Palermo deposited her third of the game on a free position shot in the 20th minute of play before the Lancer's would go on a three-goal run. Jarvis scored her second of the net on a feed from senior midfielder Julia Ravenelle (Barrington, NH). Ravenelle would then add a score of her own. Erickson added her second of the quarter to bring the Lancer's within one. Framingham's Hailey Baker broke the Lancer run on a pass from Rachel Erickson to put the Rams up, 9-7 to end the half.

The third quarter brought back and fourth action with three goals from each team. Jarvis added her third of the night and Lily Gendron (Lakeville, MA) found the back of the net twice more, yet Framingham held the two-goal lead with goals from Palermo, R. Erickson and Hannah Guerin. The fourth quarter was all Rams as Framingham added five straight goals to close the game at a 17-10 mark.

Worcester goalkeeper, Savanna Rosado (Milford, MA) stopped 11 of 28 shots for the Lancers while Framingham's Alexis Burleigh stood tall with 16 saves on the night.
