19 Named to LEC Fall Academic Honor Roll
January 26, 2023Worcester, MA – The Little East Conference (LEC) announced a total of 2,028 student-athletes competing in the conference’s 21 championship sports were named to the LEC Academic Honor Roll in recognition of their academic performance in the Fall 2022 semester. To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the season. -
Spartans Topple Lancers in Semifinal Match
November 03, 2022Worcester, MA- For the second time in three nights, John F. Coughlin Memorial Field at Worcester State University was the setting for an early-evening playoff contest, as the second-seeded Lancers played host to the third-seeded Spartans of Castleton University in the second-round of the Little East Conference Tournament. Worcester State was able to come away with the road win during the regular-season matchup between the Spartans and Lancers back on Oct.11. History did not repeat itself as the Spartans were able to get revenge on their regular season loss by demonstrating incredible focus in their 3-0 victory.

Lancers Come from Behind to Clip the Owls to Advance to Semis
November 01, 2022Worcester, MA- John F. Coughlin Memorial Field at Worcester State University was the setting for an early-evening playoff contest, as the second-seeded Lancers played host to the seventh-seeded Owls of Westfield State University in the opening-round of Little East Conference Tournament. Worcester State was able to come away with the win during the regular-season matchup between the Owls and Lancers back on Sept. 27, who would once again come out on top in a real nail biter of a game, defeating Westfield State in comeback fashion by a score of 3-2.

October 28, 2022Worcester, MA - The Lancers squared off in their final regular season game this evening when they faced off against UMass-Dartmouth in their last regular season LEC match. The Lancers headed into the game having already secured their berth into their final post season with the conference and vying to secure the second seed with a victory.

October 22, 2022The Lancer field hockey squad made the trip down to Eastern Connecticut State University early this afternoon for a late season conference match up with the Warriors. In a tough defensive battle, Worcester State was able to come away with a 2-1 victory that gave them their eighth Little East Conference win of the season.

Despite a late shot in the net by Senior midfielder Molly Cutting (Auburn, MA), assisted by Senior forward Karalyn Jones (Wilbraham, MA), Worcester State was unable to make the comeback and fell 4-1.

The Lancers looked to keep their winning alive on the road tonight and bring home another “W” on the season. Last season's match up with Springfield was a one goal game, with Worcester State edging it out at home with a game winner from Emily Floury. This year, Springfield managed to take home the one goal advantage for the win in a thrilling overtime matchup between the two teams.

Worcester State Leads the Way with 190 Student-Athletes Named to Fall/Winter 2022 MASCAC All-Academic
Worcester, MA- A total of 1,218 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2022 All-Academic that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann. Worcester State led the MASCAC with 190 Student Athletes named to the Fall/Winter 2022 All-Academic Team.

Field Hockey Announces 2023 Schedule
Worcester, MA- Third year Head Coach Hayley Sutherland and the Worcester State University Field Hockey team have announced their 2023 slate of games. This season will be the first that the program competes solely in the MASCAC conference, which they were named regular season champions of last season, as they bid for a return to the NCAA tournament. The team is primed to finish their season battling for the first ever MASCAC Championship and automatic qualifier to the NCAA behind senior captains Grace Adams and Sam Gastonguay, along with fellow captain and junior Madison Avilla. With a breath of new talent and dedicated returners, the Lancers are looking to make their presence felt this season.

Worcester, MA- Sophomore goalkeeper Madison Ferrara has been named the goalie of the week for the third time this season after a 2-0 LEC conference week that saw Worcester State defeat Keene St. and Eastern Conn.

Worcester, MA- Senior forward Karalyn Jones has been named the final regular season offensive player of the week in the Lancers last season as members of the LEC Conference. This is the first honor for Jones this season.
