Conway, Kelley Lead ECHA All-Conference HonorsMarch 07, 2023Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team has nine named to All-Conference Awards that were voted on by the ECHA head coaches. Clare Conway led the honors with her selection as Player of the Year, while head coach Eliza Kelley was named Coach of the Year. In only the Lancers second season of competition they have secured back-to-back ECHA conference championship, defeating Anna Maria in both finals to take home the title.

Women's Ice Hockey Repeats as ECHA ChampionsFebruary 26, 2023Worcester, MA-It was a championship game full of storylines. A rematch of last season’s title game between the Worcester State University Lancers and the Anna Maria College Amcats. It was a rubber game, as the two squads split their season series a game a piece. It was a revenge game for the Amcats who looked to redeem their loss in last year’s ECHL final. It was a revenge game for the Lancers, who lost their first conference game in program history to the Amcats less than a month ago. The stage was set for an epic championship battle. And the game did not disappoint.

Lancers Drop Tough Conference Battle to AmcatsFebruary 11, 2023Worcester, Mass. - The Lancers and Amcats clashed Saturday afternoon, wearing special jerseys for Breast Cancer Awareness, in a conference battle at the DCU Center for their “Pink in the Rink” game. Worcester State, with a goal of extending their undefeated streak in the ECHA, were unable to put one in the net as they dropped their first conference game of the season to Anna Maria.

Swedberg, Roth and Conway Honored in Halftime CelebrationJanuary 31, 2023Worcester, MA- On Saturday, January 28, Worcester State Athletics honored some exemplary Lancer Student Athletes and an Alumnus in a halftime ceremony of the Men?s Basketball game versus Salem State. Worcester State paid tribute to the 2022 MASCAC Hall of Fame induction of Eric Swedberg and the participation of Men?s Ice Hockey player Max Roth for Team USA in the Maccabiah Games, where the team won the gold medal, and Women?s Ice Hockey member Clare Conway who was selected to play with Team USA in the World University Games.

Spotlight: Jennarae Bateman, The First to Tread the PathJanuary 21, 2023Through the first half of the season, Jennarae Bateman has put up eight points including the deciding goal of the Lancers victory this past Tuesday night. A native of Forest Lake, Minn., she has come halfway across the country to join the first ever freshman class in Worcester State Women?s Hockey history. While Bateman is currently putting together a fine season on a solid squad, WSU was hardly on her radar throughout the recruitment process. But the risk of joining a new program seems to be paying off for the young forward in more ways than one.

Lancers Strike it Hot versus Southern MaineJanuary 07, 2023Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team headed to Southern ME Saturday afternoon looking for the first win of 2023, after dropping a thriller last night versus nationally ranked Utica College in OT. The extra minutes of play seem to have had a minimal effect on the Lancers, as they started strong jumping out to an early lead and holding on to claim the 6-3 victory.

The Lancers closed out 2022 with dominant victories over the Bison, their second matchup and victory over their opponents this season and the Vikings.

Clare Conway Named to Team USA Roster for World University GamesDecember 05, 2022Worcester, MA- Worcester State Women?s Ice Hockey forward Clare Conway has been selected to represent Team USA at the World University Games in January in Lake Placid New York. The games are scheduled to run from January 12-22. Staged every two years in a different city, the winter edition of the FISU World University Games is a celebration of international university sports and culture. With several thousand student-athletes competing in each event edition, the FISU World University Games is among the world's largest winter multi-sports competition.

The Lancers captured a much-needed road victory when they defeated the Pilgrims by a score of 5-1.

They would have a tough test to get them back to .500, as the Pilgrims also entered tonight’s matchup at 2-3, looking to accomplish the same goal.
