MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TAKES 23rd at UMASS DARTMOUTH INVITATIONAL

DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Worcester State University men's cross country team finished 23rd of 33 teams competing in the 48th UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday morning at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course.

Suffolk's Matyas Csiki-Fejer won the individual crown with a time of 23.36.30, while UMass Lowell had the best team score with 44 points.

Junior, Drew Fottler (Chelmsford, MA) was the top finisher for the Lancers in 32nd place in the 8k race. Fottler finished with a time of 25:25:20, earning the team 31 points. Shortly following was junior runner, Patrick Carleton (Tewksbury, MA) with a time of 25:28:80 and a 33rd place finish.

Junior Wayne Carey (Shrewsbury, MA) finished 3rd for the Lancers with a time of 27:52:40 (148th overall). Daniel Clark (29:41:40 - 202 overall) and Robert Doig (30:31:40 - 214 overall) rounded out the top five for the Lancers.

Also placing for Worcester was Sam Magee (30:33.10 - 215) and Ethan Goudreau (30:35.00 - 217). 


The Lancers will race next on October 2nd in Warwick, RI for the Community College of Rhode Island Tri-State Invitational at 10:00am.
